Crimson Desert Shatters Launch Records

Pearl Abyss’ open-world action RPG Crimson Desert has sold over two million copies in its first 24 hours and climbed to No. 4 on Twitch.

Just one week after its March 19 global release, Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert has surged to the top of Steam and Twitch charts, confirming its status as a major commercial success.

The title, built on the studio’s proprietary BlackSpace Engine, crossed two million units sold within its first day.

On Steam, it reached a peak concurrent player count of 248,000 and continues to average above 100,000 daily players.

Twitch recorded nearly 500,000 peak concurrent viewers on launch day, with an average of 95,500 viewers across the past seven days.

Critics have given the game generally positive reviews (Metacritic ~78), praising its fluid combo-based combat, vast open world, and high production values.

Steam user reviews sit at “Mostly Positive,” supported by several post-launch patches addressing performance and UI issues.

The launch marks Pearl Abyss’ most ambitious single-player project to date, moving beyond its live-service roots with Black Desert Online.

Industry analysts note strong demand for premium, story-driven open-world experiences.

With continued updates already underway, Crimson Desert is poised to remain a dominant force in the gaming spotlight throughout 2026.
