The US and Israel are fighting a war against Iran that started on February 28.
This has strained relations between Iran and India.
People wonder if Iran will try to be close friends with India again soon.
It seems unlikely right now because of trust issues.
Iran and India have been connected for a very long time through history and business.
For example, they worked together on the Chabahar port.
In 2024, India agreed to help build it for 10 years, despite US opposition.
This port helps India reach Central Asia without going through Pakistan.
However, India has sometimes followed US rules, such as halting oil purchases from Iran in 2019.
This made Iran feel like India was not a reliable friend.
Things got worse recently.
On March 4, a US submarine sank an Iranian ship called IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean.
At least 80 people died, and many are missing.
The ship had just left India’s big navy event, MILAN 2026, in Visakhapatnam.
Iran was invited as a guest with over 180 people on board.
No proof shows India helped the US, but many on social media call it a “backstab” by India.
Iran’s government has not directly blamed India.
However, India’s reaction to the war, asking everyone to stay calm without saying the US and Israel are wrong, has upset some in Iran.
India is getting closer to Israel, like when Prime Minister Modi visited there just before the war.
Also, Iran’s top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed, making Iran look for stronger help from countries like Russia and China.
Experts say Iran will not rush to repair ties with India now, as doing so might make it look weak.
After the war, they might work together on projects like the port if US rules relax and trust returns.
However, that is not likely soon.
The future of Iran-India friendship is unclear in this changing world.
