BJP Slams Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Over Rs 2.6 Crore Renovation

BJP accuses Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah of replicating the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ controversy, questioning his official residence’s Rs 2.6 crore renovation.

BJP Accuses Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Over Lavish Renovation

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of attempting to replicate the controversial ‘Sheesh Mahal’ renovation scandal, citing media reports that claim Rs 2.6 crore is being spent on refurbishing his official residence, Cauvery, in Bengaluru.

On Tuesday, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi demanded that the Congress central leadership clarify its position on the renovation expenses.

“Has the Congress obtained financial approval and followed due procedures? If so, they should provide proof. Otherwise, this raises questions about whether they are bypassing rules, much like their old ally in Delhi,” Trivedi stated, referring to the alleged extravagant renovation of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.

While acknowledging that the government has the right to renovate official properties, Trivedi insisted that the legal procedures be followed.

“At first glance, this seems like another instance of corruption,” he added.

The BJP also targeted the Congress over corruption allegations by the Karnataka State Contractors’ Association.

Trivedi criticized the state government, claiming that after coming to power, it had failed to fulfill promises and instead diverted funds meant for Dalit welfare schemes.

He called the situation “deeply concerning and disgraceful.”

As the controversy unfolds, political tensions in Karnataka continue to rise.

The Congress has yet to respond to the allegations.
