In a recent event caught on video by the Indian Navy, pirates fired shots at an Indian Navy helicopter.
This happened as the helicopter was getting close to a ship that pirates near the east coast of Somalia had taken over.
The Indian Navy was in the process of responding to a distress call from a Bangladeshi ship, which had been hijacked by pirates back in December 2023.
The Indian Navy, using one of its warships, managed to reach the hijacked vessel on March 15.
Upon finding the pirates, the Navy demanded that they give up and surrender.
